The time for spring sports is here, and the Audubon track teams are getting pumped up for their track season. Team track practices started Mar. 3. According to track member Kaitlin Andersen, both the boys and girls track team usually practice every day after school. Andersen said, “Warmups are started in the Activity Center of the school and because of the beautiful spring weather, we have started practicing outside earlier than normal.” Mitchell Nelsen, a member of the boy’s track team said, “The hurdlers started Feb. 24, but the whole team started Tuesday, Mar. 3. We practice the same amount as the girls team, every day after school.” The track teams are pushed to their limits during practice, getting better and better each time. Nelsen said, “I believe this season will be very successful. We have some great athletes returning and some good ones coming up for their freshman year.” Everyone in track is talking about the hard practices, but it pays off for them during competitions. Andersen said, “Right now, I think we are looking to have a fairly successful season.” It’s a mutual feeling that this year both track teams are going to have great seasons, and everyone is looking forward to the season ahead. |
