Kalisa Ndamage is a foreign exchange student from Johannesburg, South Africa. At only 15 years old, Ndamage is one of the youngest foreign exchange students Audubon High School has ever had.
He is the middle child in his family and has two brothers back home. His host parents are Tim and Jan Andersen and host sibling is Kaitlin Andersen. Ndamage said, “There are a lot of nice people at our school,” and he thinks our teachers are really cool.
Ndamage brings a lot of energy and personality wherever he goes. Junior Justis Vesper said, “He is a very cool and funny guy”. Ndamage has joined the football team and, on occasion, he does a chant before the start of the football games. The chant is in Afrikaans, which is his native language. Ndamage brings a very high spirit to the games for his teammates. He plays junior varsity, and is a kicker and also plays safety.
Fellow football player Derek Nielsen said “He is a very funny guy, and he brings a lot of fun to our football team...The chant actually really pumps some of us up…The chant starts off the night well and gets us ready for our opponent.”
