The weather is getting colder and the days are getting shorter, which means shorts and tank tops are out, and leggings and crew necks are in. The new season has brought in tons of new trends, from combat boots and skinny jeans, to cardigans and dress boots.
"My favorite thing to wear right now is leggings, scarves, and boots," junior Emily Haubrich said. If you take one walk down the street you could see that just about every other girl agrees with that fashion trend, too.
Another really big thing that is coming back this year: flannels. You can see flannels everywhere and they work for just about everybody, boy or girl. You can pair them with a cardigan or a vest, or just wear it down with leggings and combat boots for the perfect winter look. However, they don't work for everyone, sophomore Rebecca Nelson said, "I like flannels, but I'm too short and they make me look even shorter."
Word of advice, if you're looking for a cute winter outfit this year: leg warmers can make even the most basic outfit look adorable. "I can pair my leg warmers with just about anything and it adds a little to it. Just the right amount," said Haubrich.
"I just like leggings and over sized sweatshirts," says sophomore Alexis Fassino. She has a different approach when it comes to winter fashion. Some people prefer comfort over style, which there's nothing wrong with that, especially in the cold.
This winter season when you're looking for something to make a statement with, just pull out a pair of leggings and a sweater, and a girl is good to go. Simple is elegant this cold season.
